"Also just so you know we had another great year with our online donations using the SPI (Helpforcharities.com) system. We raised $89,613.20 in 2002. As well we've used the shopping cart tool to register people for various events and the Volunteer form we have running on your system has led to 196 new volunteers! And all it cost us for the year 2002 to use the SPI donation management tools was $363.85! An outstanding ROI!

Thanks to everyone on the SPI team for your an outstanding product and all your assistance last year!"

"We subscribe to other charity portals offering an e-receipting service for on-line donations, however this one is the best we have seen."

"The personalization and customization features give us services and advantages over that of other options. As well, costs are highly competitive with others, and given the increased sophistication of this portal, it offers true value for money."

"CARE Canada's fundraising revenue has historically relied upon traditional methods of fundraising such direct mail.

CARE Canada's mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world. Drawing strength from our global diversity, resources and experience, we promote innovative solutions and advocates for global responsibility. Contributions to CARE Canada allow us to provide much needed support to communities all over the world. CARE continues to work in parts of the world where poverty, rather than environmental changes, is the root cause of human suffering. We continue to develop sustainable projects in which communities employ your financial assistance to overcome what are often desperate situations. Water, sanitation, health and income generation remain our primary interests in developing community security.

In 1998 it became apparent to us that we needed to investigate expanding our methods of fundraising in order to meet our fundraising goals. With the expanding role of the Internet in the world around us it was obvious what our first choice should be. We began the process of setting up a way in which our donors could make contributions via our website.

This not only started the process of creating a "Donations Page" on our website but also drew attention to our website in general. We now have a website that is both useful as a marketing tool and informative to the public about CARE Canada's work around the world. It has also sparked other revenue generating projects which we feel can be marketed via our website.

Another challenge that CARE Canada has regarding collecting donations is that we only have one National office for fundraising across Canada. The office has limited staff and runs on Eastern Standard Time Monday to Friday. The website allows donors who are located across Canada to make donations to CARE Canada from the comfort of their home or office at their convenience regardless of the time or day. It's like having a virtual office 24 hours a day.

During times of emergencies and crisis across the world the website allows donors to make a donation which can immediate address the need at hand. It also allows the donor to get up to date information on where their money will be spent at the same time again at their convenience.

All in all the website donations page has allowed CARE Canada to expand the methods by which donors can give to CARE and make it more convenient for the donor to give."

“I want to thank you for your support on this project. I’m not the most computer and web literate person in the world, but you were able to guide me through this process quite nicely and I’m really pleased with the outcome.”

“I was initially skeptical about working with the discussion board to communicate on this project. But what a great tool that is. It was really helpful to have all the past messages readily available for reference. I’m a big fan of the board now.”

"Strategic Profits has been a key part of our internet strategy at United Way of Greater Toronto. From the time we first joined SPI's Community Storefront, as part of pilot project with Industry Canada, their professional services have made our online presence grow.

In 2000 we had a record-breaking $44, 775.00 in online donations and this year we are tracking ahead of where we were last year. We received a $5,000 donation online and because of the pricing structure at SPI the services charges on that were small.

The backend system is easy to use and allows for great tracking of transactions, with improved security. It allows our finance people to easily access records and check accounts.

As well, this year with the help of SPI we started running registration for our workshops online. SPI was able to quickly post these forms, which allow people to easily register for the workshop, and provides a email confirmation to both the registrant and us. The data is easily extracted to an excel spreadsheet.

Finally, the online support from the team at SPI is top-notch! Any contact is replied to swiftly and professional within hours, if not minutes. The WebBoard area is great for keeping in touch with new features, other users in the SPI community and the team at SPI.

We have enjoyed our relationship with SPI and appreciate their commitment to making the web accessible to not-for-profit organizations at a very reasonable cost."
