Environmental Defence is spurring the creation of greener, healthier, more liveable communities by fighting to limit urban sprawl, and by fostering community stewardship of urban natural resources.
Every day our bodies absorb a different complex of toxic contaminants. Environmental Defence improves and safeguards human health by reducing our exposure to these pollutants. We target key sources: industrial emission into air, water and land; agricultural practices that increase toxics in food; and everyday products that contain harmful chemicals.
Canada is losing species at an unprecedented rate. Environmental Defence ensures species at risk - and the habitats they depend on - are protected and recovered.
